About Roulette
Roulette settles a round on where a ball comes to rest in a spinning wheel. You may back a single number, a group of numbers, a column, a colour, or odd against even. Bets covering more numbers win more often and pay less; a single number pays the most and lands the least. Those payouts are deliberately set slightly below the true odds, and that difference is the house edge.
The wheel you choose changes that edge, and it is the one meaningful choice available. A European wheel carries a single zero; an American wheel adds a double zero, which adds another losing outcome to every even-money bet without changing what those bets pay. Some tables also apply rules that return part of an even-money stake when zero lands. Each table publishes its layout and its rules before you play.
What does not change the edge is any pattern of staking. Doubling after a loss, following a run of reds, or waiting for a number that has not appeared are all built on the idea that the wheel remembers, and it does not — each spin is independent. Progressive systems of that kind reliably produce a long series of small wins followed by one loss large enough to erase them, which is why they feel effective right up until they are not.
Common questions
No. The wheel has no memory, and every spin has the same distribution as the last. Reading a history board as a prediction is the most common misunderstanding of the game.
Bets covering more numbers win more often and pay proportionally less; the expected cost over time is similar across them. The wheel layout, not the bet, is what changes the house edge.
No. It converts a steady trickle of small wins into an occasional very large loss, and it runs into table maximums and your own balance long before it recovers anything, and no sequence of stakes makes it recover.
First Person tables are computer-dealt with a random number generator; live tables use a physical wheel filmed in a studio. The bet types and payouts are published for each.
Nothing on this page is advice on how to win, and no game described here can be influenced, predicted or beaten over time. Every game is built to return less than it takes. Play with money you can afford to lose, and set your limits before you start rather than after.
Before you play
Every account at MGE Digital opens with a deposit limit, a loss limit and a session time limit that you set yourself during registration. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately; raising one is held for 24 hours and must then be confirmed by you.
Online gambling is entertainment that costs money, not a way to make it. If it stops being entertainment, BetGuard self-exclusion closes your account across every operator in the Ontario market, and Responsible Gaming explains every other control available to you.
